Trestle Table Process,

Working with reclaimed wood is not as easy as it might seem.  First, Brian processed the reclaimed wood, as usual checking for existing old hardware in the wood, extracting it if necessary.  Then, drying the pieces to a proper level of humidity, next with careful detail straightening the boards, planning and joining every piece needed to finally make the necessary cuts according to specifications. Finally he assembled this beautiful piece of furniture.
 

As it can be seen, Brian carefully selected and matched each board to make a unique and beautiful top.  As a matter of fact, this trestle table has mortise and tenon joinery, detailed sanding, hand rubbed and finished with lots of care.

Trestle Table Dimensions:  (Approximately)

• • 30” high x 40”wide x 88” long
  • Top*: 1” (approx.) thick
  • Feet: 3-” Tall x 3 ½” wide x 28” long.  Shaved on each side to one inch.
  • Legs: 1”thick x 10”wide in the center. 11 1/2″ wide at top and bottom
  • Spacing between legs (stretcher): 58” long
  • Top of stretcher was placed 7”+ to the bottom of the table top
  • 3 vertical spacers placed evenly along the trestle beam, approximately 3”wide
  • Table top overhangs approximately 14 1/2” on ends.
  • It seats comfortably 8 to 10 people.
